Wordless Wednesday

What a pout!

New Family Pictures

So it has taken me awhile to get my new family pictures on here. This summer has been so busy with gardening, playing with Bo, Family reunions, and normal everyday stuff.

I loved how these pictures turned out. The photographer did such a great job! She was great with Bo and they best part is she put ALL the pictures on the disc for me for the same amount.

We took the pictures on our property that my parents gave us when we got married. We want to build a house up here in the NEAR future.

Our whole family. Bonnie, Foxy, Freddie, Bo and Tracy

This is so cute of Freddie

I love this shot. Bo and Freddie in the back and Foxy at my feet.

First stage of a pout

Full on pout. I love that she caught this!

I guess it took a lot out of him to get his picture taken. He was so good for the shoot.

It's going to be a great day!

So excited that today is here! Lately I have been getting up early around 5:45 AM or 6:00 AM. That might be normal for some people but for me I usually like to sleep in more. However I have discovered that if I get up early I have more time to do things that I need and want to get done before Bo wakes up.

I get to go look at our family pictures we had taken last week. The lady did such a great job! I am going to re-do my picture wall in my family room with the new pictures. I can't wait to get them printed off and put in frames!

Then after lunch Bo and I are going to my mom's house to make Father's Day presents. I found the idea from the blog That Artist Woman. She has so many great ideas for kid crafts! I will post our finished projects when we get them done.

I am so thankful to be a wife and a stay at home mom so I get to do these fun things with Bo!

Have a great day!

Rules for Five Question Friday: Copy and paste the following question to your blog post, answer them, then watch for the linky to appear tomorrow morning (any preferences as to time?) and LINK UP! I would LOVE for you to link back to me, but that is NOT a requirement! I just wantcha to have FUN!! (And, 5QF is also a quick, easy post for when your muses have gone on sabbatical or if you're just plain old too busy to write something else!)

Questions for Friday, June 17th: (Special thanks to @gasfamily, @MarandaLamping, Sandy, Lorilynne, and a question from the Deck of Random Question cards [i.e. sending out an SOS for question suggestions!] for their question suggestions! Have a fun question? Head over to my community or shout it out on twitter to me, @5crookedhalos, using hashtag #5QF!)

1. What is your favorite summer time activity?
I absolutely love to garden. Flowers or Veggies I love it all. It is so exciting to me to see the little seeds poke their heads up out of the dirt. I also love to can then when it is time.

2. Do you have one laundry soap you stick to, or do you buy whatever's on sale?
Oh yes! I used to love Tide. But now the laundry soap I get from an online store that makes only GREEN, ECO-FRIENDLY products.  It is 6 times concentrated so I only have to use a little bit and it is as gentle on our cloths as tap water.I love the smell. But the biggest thing I love is that it is chemical free so I am not putting harsh chemicals that irritate my families skin into our cloths!

3. What is your favorite dinner to make in the summer?
Anything on the BBQ grill. And corn on the cob.

4. Do you have any talents?
I can play the piano a little bit. But this is the best talent. I have a pretty flat head I think and I can balance a cup, can, or jar on my head and walk around.

5. If you could instantly be an expert in something, what would it be? Why?
It would have to be to let things go that bother me. I try to let them go but I usually take a few days to get it out of my system. So for the two days I am sitting around thinking about how this person or that hurt my feelings or said or did something so stupid.

Fun craft for kids

One favorite activity that summer brings is Family Reunions! I love family reunions. We had one this past Sunday with my mom's side of the family.

We ate some good food, visited with family we haven't seen for a while and did some fun kid crafts.

This one is so simple and fun and not to mention CHEAP!! You gather rocks wrap them in tin foil and bake in the oven for 10 to 20 minutes. You want them warm enough to melt crayons but not burn little hands. Take them to the table and unwrap them. Give each kids a few colors of crayons and let them create something on the rock.

They loved seeing the crayons melt on the rock. Bo is 2 1/2 and he loved this project.

Mommy liked making one too.

Bo's masterpiece

I am going to put these out side by my flower pots so Bo can play with them.

Happy Day

Before I was married and a mom there were a few things I would day dream about being a wife and a mommy. One of them was getting family pictures taken. That is what we are going to do this evening. I am so excited! I went and bought us all matching shirts and we are going to have our dogs in the pictures with us. Well some of the pictures anyway. I was debating whether or not to catch our horses and have them with us, but decided that was too much work. So maybe next year for the horses!

We are getting them taken on our property where one day in the future ( I hope the near future) we are going to build our house. My mom and dad gave it to us when we got married. It's on the ranch I grew up on and I can see my dad's hay fields from it.

I will show you all the pictures when we get them back.

Here are a few of the blogs I link to.

1. How close to your childhood dreams is your life now?
I am living my childhood dream of being a wife and mommy and living in the town I grew up in next to my family!!

2. What is one must have item for the summer?
My toes done. Either just painted some cute bright color or have my sister do glitter toes for me. Can't have naked toes nope, nope.

3. Do you have your kids stay up on school stuff during summer vacation? (Or, if you don't have kiddos, did your parents make you keep up on school stuff during summer?)
My little guy is only 2, but I do teach him things everyday about something. I think I will probably do some sort of school review with him when the time comes. I want him to love to learn.

4. Do you can or freeze fresh produce?
YES!! I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE to can produce from my garden. Every year the Hubby helps me can tomato juice and last year we did over 100 quarts of tomato juice. Hubby loves it so that's what we make. I also make dilly beans (pickled green beans), Pickled beets, and salsa. This year I am going to can beets regular not pickled and carrots. I want to know where my food is coming from and with all the disasters lately I want to know that my family won't starve if there is a shortage or the price goes sky high.

5. Do you get ready for the day first thing in the morning?
Well I get up and drink some herbal tea while I get on the computer for a few minutes in the morning. Then I shower and get ready for the day.

I love being a mom!

I love being a mom! It is what I was made to do. Everything I have get to do as a mom makes me happy and very thankful. I am also EXTREMELY thankful that I get to be a stay at home mom.

Here are some reasons I love being a mom:

Finding baby Nilla Waffers in my washer.

Finding Bo's animals in the cupboard where the movies go.

Even though it makes a mess and I have to clean it up, it makes me smile.

Hearing Bo say, "Bo needs some pink milk in a sippy."

When he says, "Momma can you rock-a-bye?"

When Bo tells me I am the best mommy EVER!

Cool things for my yard

My husband is such a clever inventor! He has made us so many cute handy things for our yard and house. His latest is a sprinkler for our garden that is tall so when the plants get big they will still get water from our sprinkler. We planted most of our garden on black plastic so we wouldn't have so many weeds to weed this year. We don't have rows for them so we needed to use a sprinkler to water them. He was explaining to me what he was going to make and I couldn’t picture what he was talking about very well. But when he made it I thought he was so inventive!

The second one is a bird feeder for our tree. In the winter we put our bird food on our deck and we enjoyed watching the birds come in and eat the food. But now we can’t keep it on our railing anymore. We looked around at some different kinds of bird feeders in stores but didn’t see one that we really thought would work. So he made this one and it is so cute. We didn’t know if any birds would eat out of it or not. But today I saw some in it eating! We were so excited.
I think this is so cute! He used a tree branch and then he had some tin canister in the garage he used and we painted blue.

It's kind of hard to see the bird. It's on the left side on the edge of the blue part. It kind of has a yellowish belly.
